Edit PDF Title and Author

Fix wrong or missing document properties before you publish or archive a PDF. Set a proper title that appears in browser tabs and search results, and record the correct author name for attribution. Accurate metadata also helps PDFs rank better when indexed by search engines. The update is written directly into the file on your own machine — nothing is uploaded, queued, or stored on a server.

Frequently asked questions

Where does PDF metadata show up?

The title appears in PDF viewer title bars and browser tabs, while both title and author can surface in search engine results and document management systems.

Can I leave one of the fields empty?

Yes. Only the fields you fill in are updated; empty fields keep their existing values in the downloaded document.

Does editing metadata change the page content?

Not at all. Only the document property fields are rewritten — every page, image, and piece of text remains byte-identical to the original.
