Convert PDF to Word
Turn a text-based PDF into an editable Word document you can open, edit, and republish in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or any other DOCX app. 1PDF reads the selectable text layer of every page, keeps the reading order, groups the content into clean paragraphs, and preserves large text as bold headings so the structure of the original survives the conversion. Page boundaries are kept as page breaks. Everything runs locally in your browser — your document is never uploaded to any server, so even confidential files stay completely private.

Frequently asked questions
Will images and design be preserved in the Word file?
No. This tool extracts the readable text layer into an editable document. Images, fonts, tables, and the exact page design are not carried over — the result is meant for text you want to edit.
My PDF is a scan, why is the Word file empty?
Scans are images without a text layer. Run the scanned file through OCR first to make the text extractable, then convert the OCR result to Word.
Why is my Word document not an exact copy of the PDF?
PDF is a fixed-layout format while Word reflows text freely. 1PDF keeps the reading order, paragraph breaks, and bold headings, but line wrapping and pagination will adjust to the Word page.
Can I edit the converted document in Word or Google Docs?
Yes. The output is a standard DOCX file that opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice, and most other word processors, ready for full editing.
