Why 1PDF exists

Most online PDF tools ask you to upload your documents to their servers. That is a problem when your PDF contains a contract, a medical record, a bank statement, or anything else you would rather keep to yourself. 1PDF takes a different approach: the tools come to your files, not the other way around.

How it works

Core PDF tools run locally in your web browser, powered by JavaScript and WebAssembly. When you process a file, your own device does the work. AI tools are opt-in: the original PDF remains local and only extracted text is sent after you start a task.
